Vallejo Mediums
The range of Vallejo Mediums includes Varnishes in Gloss, Matt and Satin, Airbrush Flow and Thinner, Decal Softner and Fixer, Liquid Mask and Plastic Putty. The Mediums include: Chipping, Metal, Matt, Gloss, Thinner, Retarder, Glaze and Crackle. They are ideal for use with the Vallejo Surface Primers, Model Air Acrylics
and Model Colours.
Product Details:
Gloss, Matt and Satin Varnishes: Waterbased acrylic varnish, quick drying and an acrylic resin of extraordinary hardness and permanence. Protects painted models from dust and scratches, dirt and humidity.
Decal Fix: Decal Fix cleans and prepares the model surface before placing decals and wet transfers, improves adherence of the decal, and prevents formation of air bubbles without need for a previous coat of varnish.
Decal Softener: Decal Softener is a medium which protects the decal and smoothes its edges so that they blend with the surface of the model.
Airbrush Thinner: Airbrush Thinner is used to extend the colors, increase fluidity and delay their drying time. It does not alter the properties of the colours.
Airbrush Flow Improver: Airbrush Flow Improver is a medium to improve the flow & delay the drying of paint on the needle. We recommend adding 1-2 drops Flow Improver to 10 drops of paint in the cup of the airbrush.
Liquid Mask: Liquid Mask is used to reserve areas which are to remain unpainted, especially in airbrush techniques. The product forms a protective film on the area which the artists does not want to paint. Once the work is dry, liquid mask is rubbed off revealing the unpainted area.
Plastic Putty: is a modeling paste which dries to a white, totally opaque, stone hard finish. It is used principally for rebuilding or restructuring models and miniatures, for textures and high reliefs.
Mediums:
Crackle Medium: is a waterbased medium, used between two coats of paint to create a weathered effect, or as a final coat to create a transparent crackled surface.
Glaze Medium: is a colourless glaze, used to mix with acrylic colours; improves fluidity, increases transparency, and slows drying time.
Retarder Medium: to delay drying time of Model Colour.
Chipping Medium: Chipping Medium is a waterbased medium to create flaked paint, scratches, and rust chips.
Gloss and Matt Medium: extends the colours, increases their fluidity and transparence, and softens the blending of brush strokes.
Metal Medium: is an acrylic medium formulated with mica, which can be mixed with acrylic colours to create an iridescent lustre or applied by itself for a silvery iridescent effect.
Thinner Medium: used to extend the colours, to increase fluidity and delay the drying time.
